Patrick Addison
Surgeon
Patrick Addison qualified from Edinburgh University with a distinction in Surgery. Basic Surgical Training in Edinburgh was followed by a two-year research degree at the University of Toronto, Canada, leading to the award of an MD. Subsequently, he completed specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in both Edinburgh and Newcastle. He then undertook the Toronto General Hospital Microsurgical Fellowship followed by three months of aesthetic fellowship in Los Angeles and San Diego, California. He is a full member of BAPRAS.
He is currently a consultant Plastic Surgeon in Edinburgh with a specialist interest in cancer reconstruction (including head and neck and breast), facial reanimation and paediatric plastic surgery and burns. He also has an interest in a broad range of aesthetic surgery including breast augmentation and reduction, weight loss surgery, abdominoplasty and facial cosmetic surgery.
Outside of medicine, Mr Addison enjoys running, mountain biking, swimming, and cross-country and downhill skiing. Alongside playing the guitar and bagpipes, he is a helicopter pilot, paraglider, qualified military parachutist and downhill ski instructor.
Recently appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
